Oh? Do you? [ Heh. The water is pretty nice and warm, buuuut. ] It'll be easier to hold you if we move to the bed. Just saying.
[ He is also teasing, given how he accentuates that with a little shrug. He's definitely in a better mood, and even gives Aether's waist a little squeeze. Days like these are getting more and more common with how comfortable he's grown around his partner - and Vanitas would like the same for Aether, too. He may not voice it or make that as obvious as he should, but by the way he urges Aether to stand up so they can move, it's clear that he meant what he said about moving to the bed. Get ready to be spoiled, Traveler.
He'll let the tub drain in the meantime, and move to wrap a towel around his waist. His clothes are in the other room since he wasn't expecting an invite to the bath, and before he goes to get dressed, he gives Aether a small kiss on the cheek. ]
[There's a soft giggle as he's moved to stand up.]
Right, right. [Vanitas seems really eager! But Aether is planning how to spoil him more as well. He doesn't want to be the only one having a good time.
Aether takes a towel and carefully dries himself. He'd do the same for Vanitas, but the other seems to already take care of himself. And even gives a small kiss to Aether.]
Anytime.
[It's nice to see Vanitas in such a good mood. Aether is glad he dragged him into the bath.
The traveler quickly puts on a light shirt and some pants, letting his hair loose to allow it to dry out further. Then he exists the bathroom and makes his way towards Vanitas to catch him by the hand and lead him to the bedroom.]
[ While Aether gets dressed, Vanitas slips into some plain loungewear, which is very simple in comparison to his regular, nonsensical outfit. He's busy fixing his hair a little when Aether beats him to the punch and reaches for his hand. Vanitas turns around and smiles, allows himself to be lead. He sits at the edge of it and leaves plenty of space for Aether to join him. They can lie down if the traveler wishes, but he figures he'll start here and put an arm around Aether's waist again.
Now that they have some quiet, maybe this'll be a good time to learn more about his partner. There's still so much that they haven't shared with each other, he realizes, though Vanitas is not the sort of person to talk about himself unless someone asks. He doesn't mind doing the asking, though. He's a curious kind of guy. ]
You've talked about your sister before. [ Many times, actually. ] What caused the two of you to be separated?
[He sits down, close to Vanitas, enjoying the other's presence with a small smile. Quiet moments like these aren't rare anymore, but they're still very precious to him. All of them.
He's a little surprised when Vanitas asks him that question, though. Aether's smile falls and it takes him a moment to answer.]
We were separated by a god... We tried to leave Teyvat but an unknown god stopped us. I fell asleep for 500 years, but it seems it wasn't the same for my sister.
[His gaze grows distant, unfocused on anything in particular.]
When we met again, she told me we couldn't be reunited just yet. That I had to see the world and only then I would understand.
[ He knew Aether's lifespan was far beyond that of a human being's, but to be asleep for 500 years, and wake up after that? How cruel. Aether waking up is quite obviously a blessing, but Vanitas cannot imagine the turmoil he himself would have gone through if he were presented with that sort of knowledge after being asleep for centuries.
It's fascinating that such a thing could be made possible, but of course it was at the hands of a god. He has no room to scorn anyone for wielding such great power, given his abilities back at home and how he used them, but he will anyway. ]
So that "god" decided that you needed to be in stasis while your sister got to roam the world freely, and you've yet to receive a proper explanation?
[ Wow, he hates that, actually.
Vanitas doesn't move; his position is stationary, as is his hold on Aether. Even so, that in itself is a good sign that he's not going anywhere. It's strange, to care so much and provide support to someone like this. Given how long they've been together, though, it's only natural that his caring side would show itself like this around the only person he trusts enough with it. ]
[Aether smiles, but it's a forced, humourless expression.]
It's... actually a bit ironic. I'm not really unused to sleeping for such a long time. In fact, when my sister and I travelled to different worlds we would be asleep on the ship in a special chamber before arriving to a new world.
[He pauses for a moment, before continuing.]
When I woke up on Teyvat for the first time, the world was in chaos. Screams, destruction. My sister grabbed my hand and told me we need to run. So I did. But when we tried to escape that was when the god stopped us.
[The fact that only he was asleep for years and his sister was travelling all alone in this world was definitely some sort of punishment. But why exactly?]
I hope one day Lumine can tell me her side of the story. That's really all I want.
[He's... tired. His leans against Vanitas, seeking comfort in his warmth.]
